I'm Lars, a 26-year-old living in Amsterdam, and I built Swyller out of pure frustration.
Like many of you, my Downloads folder was a disaster. Files piling up endlessly, eating away at disk space, driving up cloud storage costs, and making it impossible to find anything because of file names like "12bi3rrbqwgijsajklkqql3irjq.pdf." When I looked for solutions, every tool I found wanted to upload my files to some third-party cloud service. My personal documents, photos, and financial records? In the age of AI I am not comfortable handing those over.
So I built my own tool. What started as a personal solution to my own chaos turned into something that completely transformed how I interact with my computer. No more hunting for files. No more surprise "storage full" notifications. No more paying for cloud space just to store digital clutter. And most importantly, my files never leave my machine.
The benefits were so significant that I decided to share it with the world. I genuinely believe that a cleaned-up digital life creates a better headspace. And a better headspace leads to better decisions. Better decisions improve how you spend your limited time on this planet.
It might sound like a stretch, but small daily frustrations add up. Eliminating them matters more than we realize.
